Airtel DataMe2U is a service offered by Airtel, which allows Airtel prepaid subscribers to share their data allowance with other Airtel prepaid subscribers. 

This service enables Airtel subscribers to transfer a portion of their data balance to friends, family, or other Airtel users who may have exhausted their data balance or need additional data.

1. Check Eligibility: Before attempting to transfer data using Airtel Data Me2U, ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria. To be eligible for data transfer, you must be an active Airtel subscriber with an active data bundle. Additionally, you must have enough data balance to transfer to the recipient.

2. Confirm Recipient’s Eligibility: The recipient of the data transfer must also meet certain eligibility criteria. The recipient must be an Airtel subscriber with an active data bundle, and their SIM card must be inserted in a compatible device that can receive data. It’s important to confirm with the recipient that they meet these eligibility requirements before proceeding with the data transfer.

3. Create Data Transfer PIN: To use Airtel Data Me2U, you need to create a Data Transfer PIN. This PIN acts as a security measure to prevent unauthorized data transfers from your account. 

Here’s how to create a Data Transfer PIN:

• Dial the Airtel Data Me2U code: *141#

• Select the “Data Me2U” option: Enter the corresponding number for Data Me2U in the USSD menu.

• Select “Change PIN”: Enter the corresponding number to change your Data Transfer PIN.

• Enter a 4-digit PIN: Follow the prompts on the screen to enter a 4-digit PIN of your choice. This will be your Data Transfer PIN. Make sure to choose a PIN that is easy for you to remember but not easily guessable by others.

• Confirm PIN: Enter the 4-digit PIN again to confirm it.

• Successful PIN creation: Once your PIN is successfully created, you will receive a confirmation message from Airtel.

Steps On How to Transfer/Share Airtel Data

Here’s how you can transfer data on Airtel Nigeria using these methods:

Method 1: Data Gifting.

Airtel Nigeria allows its prepaid and postpaid customers to gift data to their family and friends who are also Airtel users. This feature is called “Data Gifting” and can be done through USSD codes or the Airtel Nigeria website. 

Here’s how you can transfer data on Airtel Nigeria using data gifting:

1. Dial the data gifting USSD code which is *141# 

2. Choose the “Gift Data” option.

3. Enter the recipient’s Airtel mobile number, i.e the phone number of the person whom you want to gift data. Remember to double-check the mobile number to ensure accuracy.

4. Select the Data Pack to Gift from the options on your screen.

5. Review the details and confirm the data gifting request. 

The data pack will be instantly transferred to the recipient, and you will receive a confirmation message.

Method 2: Data Sharing.

Airtel Nigeria also offers a data sharing feature that allows you to share your mobile data with your family and friends who are also Airtel users. 

This can be done through the Airtel Nigeria website or by using USSD codes. Here’s how you can transfer data on Airtel Nigeria using data sharing:

1. Dial the data sharing USSD code which is *141# 

2. Choose the “Data Share” option.

3. Enter the recipient’s Airtel mobile number, i.e the phone number of the person whom you want to gift data. Remember to double-check the mobile number to ensure accuracy.

4. Select the Data Pack to Share from the options on your screen.

5. Review the details and confirm the data gifting request. 

The data pack will be instantly shared with the recipient, and you will receive a confirmation message.
