My Journey To Being A Blogger

We all know how it is in Nigeria, most people don’t get to work in the area of study their Bachelor’s degree was obtained.

I am not an exception, my story is a funny one.

During my secondary school days, I was in the science department and I did exceptionally well.

As a secondary school graduate, I was lucky enough to gain admission to the university immediately.

I studied Physics at Lagos State University.

In 2019, I completed my Bachelor’s degree programme and then reality set in.

A few months later, I put in for my National Youth Service Corp programme, after the 3 weeks orientation camp, I worked in an automotive organization as the Community Officer.

At that time, the subsidiary I was posted to work for was barely 6 months old as the parent company just commissioned its operation of service. I used to handle their social media marketing activities.

Prior to me working there, I have been a very active person on social media so I felt it will be something I can easily do but getting into the job I realized it’s much more than posting pictures online.

My senior colleague as at then did excellently well in putting me through, I learnt a whole lot from him.

Also, my General Manager made me feel welcomed and always reminded me it’s a learning process; that alone made me happy and eager to work.

Then COVID-19 came, lockdown.

My National Youth Service Corp programme ended in July 2020 but unfortunately, I wasn’t asked to continue working because the parent company placed an embargo on employment in all regions the company is situated.

Over the months, I began to dive into other aspects of Digital Marketing, my copywriting skills rose to the maximum. And then, I said to myself, “why not utilize this skill”.

February 4th 2021, I took the bold step; I created this website that blogs about lifestyle information ranging from beauty, food, health, finance, life and much more.

Thanks for reading.
