Like every other commercial bank in Nigeria, GTB allows their customers to check their Bank Verification Number on the mobile application
The Guaranty Trust Bank, abbreviated as GTB is a leading Africa bank that offers online or internet banking, retail banking, corporate banking, investment banking and asset management services.
The great financial institution whose head office is in Victoria Island, Lagos was founded on 17 January 1990 by Fola Adeola and Tayo Aderinokun.
Bank Verification Number on the other hand is an 11 digit unique identity introduced by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to curb all forms of financial fraud and theft.
The major reason why the Central Bank of Nigeria came up with this initiative was to put a stop to the increasing compromise on conventional security systems in the banking system.
Its main function is to provide a database of watch-listed individuals and put a stop to fraud incidence in the banking sector.
