A password serves as the first layer of defence against unwanted access to the PDF document. It is used as the key to encrypt and decrypt data.
Encrypting your PDF with a password prevents unwanted access to the file content, which is especially useful for file sharing or archiving.
The stronger the password, the more secure the PDF document. Follow these recommendations to establish a strong password:
• At least 8 characters—the more characters, the better.
• A mixture of both uppercase and lowercase letters.
• A mixture of letters and numbers.
• Inclusion of at least one special character, e.g., ! @ # ? ].
