Embassies request bank statements as part of the Visa application process to ensure that the person seeking to relocate, whether temporarily or permanently, has the financial means to support himself or herself once they arrive.
The statement of account generally reveals how you manage your funds — sudden bursts of credits indicate that funds are brought in for specific purposes; on the other hand, if the outstanding balance is built over time from regular income and other sources, it indicates that the applicant is frugal and is not attempting to demonstrate a built-up financial status.
GTB, like other financial institutions, makes account statements available to its customers upon request. In this article, you’ll learn how to send your account statements to any embassy of your choice using either a mobile app or online banking without having to visit the bank.
