How to Change Noise Control Modes on AirPods from your Mac
You may also use the force sensor on your AirPods Pro or the noise control button on your AirPods Max to select one of two or three noise control modes.
Follow these steps to switch between noise cancellation and transparency settings while listening to audio from your Mac on AirPods Pro or AirPods Max:
Choose one of the following options after clicking the AirPods Pro or AirPods Max icon in the menu bar or Sound in the Control Center:
1. Noise Cancellation: Blocks out external sounds.
2. Transparency: Lets you hear the sounds around you.
3. Off: Turns off both noise cancellation and transparency.
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Sound if the AirPods Pro or AirPods Max icon isn’t on the menu bar. Check the box that says “Show Sound in Menu Bar.” You can choose whether Sound is displayed in the menu bar all of the time or only when it is active using the pop-up menu.
