To use the VLC media player to download YouTube videos, you must first install the VLC media player software on your PC device; if you have it installed proceed to follow the steps mentioned below and if you don’t, go ahead to install it.
1. Go to your YouTube page and open the video you would love to download and copy its URL
2. Click on “Media”, it is positioned at the top of your screen; then click “Open media stream” to open your VLC media player
3. Paste the URL copied from YouTube in the URL column of the menu that displays when the VLC media player opened
4. Click play or open, after a little while the video will start playing
5. Now click on “Tools” positioned at the top of your PC screen, then click on “Media information”
6. Click the “Media information” button to get the sub-menu and click on “Location”
7. Next, a URL will be displayed on the location column, copy the URL
8. Now open a new tab on your web browser and paste the link, the video will start playing once you do this
9. Now click on the 3 dots positioned at the bottom right of your screen. After doing this, the video will download on your PC as an MP4 file.
