International Women’s Day theme 2023
The theme for International Women’s Day (IWD) 2023 is “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality”.
The theme explore the impact of the digital gender gap on widening economic and social inequalities. On that day, the importance of protecting the rights of women and girls will be spotlighted in digital spaces.
Nigeria is no doubt blessed with powerful and influential women that have portrayed the female gender in a positive light within society.
These women cut across all spheres of life, ranging from the business sector to political areas and much more. They have stood out in their field, proven to be fearless and impacted lives positively.
Some stumbling blocks women encounter in Nigeria include lack of education, illiteracy, lack of mentoring of the younger generation, harmful traditional practices, early marriage, gender-based violence, and negligence of women with special needs.
We hope and look forward to a change!
