Step 1: Check Your iPad Model and iOS Version.

Before we get started, it’s essential to check your iPad model and iOS version. Split screen functionality is available on iPads running iOS 9 or later. If you’re not sure which iOS version you’re running, go to Settings > General > About > Software Version.

To begin using split screen on your iPad, open the first app that you want to use. For example, if you want to use Safari and Notes at the same time, open Safari first.

Step 4: Swipe Up to View the Dock.

Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to view the dock. The dock is the bar of icons that appears at the bottom of the screen.

Tap and hold the divider, and then drag it to adjust the size of the two apps. You can make one app larger than the other or split the screen evenly between the two apps.

Step 7: Use the Split Screen.

You can now use both apps simultaneously. You can copy and paste information between the two apps, or use one app as a reference while working in the other. To switch between apps, simply swipe up from the bottom of the screen to view the dock, and then tap on the app you want to use.

Step 8: Exit Split Screen.

To exit split screen, simply drag the divider to the edge of the screen until the second app disappears. You can also tap and hold on the second app’s icon in the dock and select “Close App” to exit split screen.
