The Lagos State Government has launched a health insurance program. It is working to guarantee that its inhabitants have access to high-quality healthcare services. This is true regardless of gender, economic class, or geography.
It also serves as a deterrent to the financial disasters linked with health care. The system is to be scaled up to every local government in the state under this structure, to stimulate demand for health insurance throughout the state.
It is primarily aimed at workers in the informal economy, It also provides a package of prepaid healthcare services to community members who enrol.
Its concept is the result of a collaboration between the State Government, the Local Government, and the private sector.

Benefits of Lagos State Health Insurance Scheme
The scheme provides primary healthcare services to participants and their dependents with the treatment of common illnesses.
There is also an emphasis on immunization, maternity care, and proper birth. Health education, short-term admissions, and other initiatives are also being pursued.
Furthermore, all state employees would be automatically enrolled in the system. In addition, the government would cover 75% of their contributions.
