Save time with these quick breakfast ideas.
As we all know, breakfast is considered to be the most important meal of the day as it keeps you strong and able to perform your daily activities.
Despite the numerous benefit breakfast provides, many people still skip it.
Lack of time is often the reason behind skipping breakfast. Some people are in a hurry to get on to unfinished jobs from the previous day, for some it’s the inability to cook, I mean we all have our lazy day, it could also be due to fasting or even lack of appetite.
Today I’ll be sharing with you breakfast ideas that won’t take much of your time to prepare;
Yam and Egg:
Yam and egg is one of the easiest breakfast to prepare, it has become a fixed breakfast in most African homes, especially Nigeria. Alongside been subtle for the stomach as the first meal of the day, it can also be very satisfying as yam is known for filling up the stomach quite well. The egg which is usually fried spices up the yam and makes it tastier.
Bread and Egg:
This is the go-to breakfast for most homes in Nigeria. Bread can easily be bought from vendors across the street, the only work that needs to be done is the frying of the egg which takes less than 10 mins. However, some might prefer to toast there bread and egg, this is achievable with a toasting machine.
Plantain and Egg:
By now you must be wondering why egg was included in all the breakfast ideas mentioned earlier, I assume you already know, it is because it is very easy to make. Let’s go back to our discussion, plantain and egg is quite easy and fast to prepare. They both go through a frying process with takes just a little amount of time and then boom, breakfast is ready.
Ogi and Akara:
If you haven’t tried this, you’re on a long thing. Ogi (also known as pap) and akara is a typical Nigeria breakfast. As a kid, I remember vividly how my grandma used to prepare Ogi and akara for me; let me not bore you with my story, back to our discussion. Ogi is traditionally processed by soaking grains in water at ambient temperature or with boiled water for 48 – 72 hours. Akara on the other hand is obtained from beans, it is usually soaked in water, peeled, blended and lastly fried in either palm oil or vegetable oil.
