How To Livestream On Facebook

There are two methods for going live on Facebook, you can either use a phone with the Facebook app installed or connect a camera with streaming software to Facebook.

If you’re on the go, don’t have access to extra equipment like a computer, camera, microphone, etc., or don’t need to add on-screen graphics or switch between cameras, you can go live on Facebook with a phone.

You can also go live with a separate camera and streaming software if you want to do the following:

Improve video and audio quality

Include graphics or other cutting-edge features (extra software may be required).

Have access to additional equipment such as a computer, a camera, a microphone, and so on.

How To Go Live On Facebook From The App

1. Log in to your Facebook account.

2. Go to the Page, group, profile, or event where you want to share your live stream.

3. At the bottom of the post composer, press the Live button.

4. Fill in the blanks with a description for your video. You can also tag friends, check in to a location, and add a feeling or activity to your post.

5. Tap the Start Live Video button.

6. When you’re ready to end your broadcast, tap Finish.

How To Go Live On Facebook From The Creator Studio app

1. Launch the Creator Studio application.

2. In the top right corner of the Home or Posts tab, click the pen and paper icon.

3. Choose the “Live” post option.

4. Fill in the blanks with a description for your video. You can also tag friends, check in to a location, and add a feeling or activity to your post.

5. Tap the Start Live Video button.

6. When you’re ready to end your broadcast, tap Finish.

How To Go Live On Facebook From A Computer

When you go live from a laptop or desktop computer, you’ll be automatically directed to Live Producer, which is also how you can go live on Facebook with more advanced production equipment and streaming software.

1. Click What’s on your mind, [Your Name]? at the top of your News Feed.

2. Click the three dots icon, then Live Video, and you will be redirected to Live Producer.

3. Fill in the blanks with a description for your live video.

4. In the bottom left, click Go Live.

How To Go Live On Facebook With A Camera And Streaming Software

To go live with a camera you’ll need streaming software also referred to as encoding software or an encoder. The best encoder for you may be determined by the type of content you intend to stream.
